Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is seeking an On-Call Security Officer to join our Security Team. This role provides a safe and secure environment for employees and guests, supporting 24-hour operations across the property.

The position requires strong problem-solving, high attention to detail, and excellent personal presentation. Ability to stand up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs; flexible schedules are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and guest contact skills.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, luxury hotel experience preferred.
• English proficiency required; additional languages a plus (Spanish/Tagalog/Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Safeguard hotel, guest and associates’ property from vandalism and theft.
• Monitor movement of associates, visitors, and contractors at staff entrances.
• Handle tasks with diplomacy, discretion and efficiency.
• Record and control visitors’ belongings when entering/leaving via staff entrances or loading dock.
• Ensure unauthorized personnel do not gain access to hotel floors/back-of-house areas.
• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and comfort for guests.

We are currently recruiting for an On-Call Security Officer to join our Security Team.

The Role - Overview

The On-Call Security Officer is a vital member of the Security Team who is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the employees and in which guests can relax and/or conduct business. This department establishes, promotes and maintains the hotel’s security and property protection. The Security Team is available 24-hours a day. The Security Officer actively participates in the day-to-day security operations of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property.

We are looking for individuals who are skilled problem solvers with a high attention to detail and a high sense of ethics and honesty. The Security Officer position involves a large amount of contact with guests, local law enforcement and other hotel personal and excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills are required. As this position is physical in nature candidates must be able to stand for up to 8 hrs per shift and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible working schedule is required.

Essential Functions

• To safeguard the hotel, guest and associates’ property from vandalism, theft and any kind of crime
• To monitor and to control the movement of all associates, visitors, and contractors leaving or entering the hotel through the staff entrance
• To handle all tasks with diplomacy, tact, appropriate discretion and efficiency
• To record and to control all visitors’ belongings / items when entering and leaving the hotel premises through the associate entrance or loading dock
• To ensure that unauthorized personnel do not gain access to the hotel floors and back of the house areas
• To be fully conversant with every detail of the hotel layout
• To ensure to check all current events, activities, and functions at the time of duty
• To patrol the areas of responsibility and to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests

Qualifications & Experience

• Have excellent customer service and guest contact skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same or similar role required, luxury hotel experience preferred
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language is required (Spanish/Tagalog/Mandarin a plus)
• Familiar with State and local safety regulations (i.e., OSHA), CPR/First Aid certified is a plus
• Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to manage priorities with a high attention to detail
• Enjoy working in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment
• Outgoing and people-oriented personality
• Effective interpersonal skills and a great team player
