Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer in Goleta, CA, to safeguard clients across tech/media/telecom locations. The role is full-time with multiple shifts, focusing on customer service, patrols, and access control.

You will use computer or tablet systems, respond to alarms, and operate within a team-driven, respectful culture that values integrity and service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 (unarmed) or 21+ (armed) and pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly, reporting as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity according to site entry and credentialing procedures.
• Document patrols and incidents accurately and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer - multiple shifts in Goleta, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. You will use computer or tablet systems, respond to alarm panel notifications, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $23.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Wed: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site-specific entry and credentialing procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
