Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer to support operations at our Houston site. This role offers flexible, anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts for greater earnings while maintaining a reliable base schedule.

You will perform standard security procedures, control access, and respond to incidents with a calm, professional approach, supporting a safe and secure facility environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of production areas, parking areas, access points, exterior grounds and perimeter.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and documenting entries and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies calmly and according to protocols.
• Complete accurate activity reports and shift communications detailing facility conditions.

• Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial manufacturing location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, parking areas, access points, exterior grounds, and the facility perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and contractors, and documenting entries, exits, and deliveries according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by established protocols.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications, including observations related to facility conditions, access control, and security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
