Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Driver for Unarmed Patrol in Durham, NC. In this role you will protect clients across healthcare and biotechnology locations, maintain a visible security presence, and provide exceptional customer service while patrolling assigned areas.

The position is full-time with daytime shifts and a pay rate of $20.84 per hour. A valid driver’s license is required, and prior security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a healthcare location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior/exterior areas and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access, verify authorization, and assist with visitor, contractor, and delivery procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations; document observations and actions.
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports and notify leadership of security concerns.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a healthcare and biotechnology location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.


• Monitor access to the location, verify authorization as required, and assist with visitor, contractor, and delivery procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and actions according to established procedures.


• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications, and promptly notify site leadership and/or appropriate personnel of security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• A guard card or license is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
