Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Melville, NY. This flexible, part-time role supports patient, visitor, and staff safety with front desk procedures and access control.

You’ll work a fixed anchor shift and may pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform to increase earnings, with a potential path toward full-time hours. Background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and front desk policies.
• Monitor access to the healthcare location, greet and direct visitors, verify credentials, and maintain visitor logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and following escalation procedures.
• Answer incoming calls, provide general information and directions, and support communication between visitors, staff, and responders.
• Maintain awareness of front desk activity and report unusual activity or policy violations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Check In in Melville, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.79 - 19.79 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
