Job summary

Allied Universal in Center City Philadelphia is seeking a Part-Time Uanarmed Medical Center Security Officer to monitor and safeguard campus, patrol areas, and support access control.

You will respond to incidents, deter unauthorized activity, and provide friendly customer service while contributing to a welcoming environment. The role offers flexible scheduling via our Claim a Shift platform with a pay rate of $19.06 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings and surrounding areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; document observations and notify appropriate contacts or emergency services.
• Assist with access control, visitor guidance, and reporting of maintenance or security-related concerns.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.06 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM; Thur 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence- adjacent locations, parking facilities, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services.
• Assist with access control, visitor guidance, directional assistance, and reporting of maintenance or security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
