Kyrene School District is hiring a Security Officer III to ensure the safety of staff and students across various school buildings. Responsibilities include collaborating with the safety team and addressing threats such as social media incidents and illegal activities.
The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, two years of security experience, and the ability to interact with K-8th grade students. A valid AZ Drivers License and fingerprint clearance card are required.
The Security Officer lll is a standalone class that supports the work of the Emergency Management Team. Incumbents provide security for the school district staff, students, buildings and property through patrol of school building(s) and building perimeters, including parking lots to prevent unauthorized visitors or property damage and to provide general building security.
The Security Officer lll will collaborate with and assist the school safety team that includes administration staff, counselors, social workers and teachers. The Security Officer lll will provide the safety team expertise in security and criminal matters to include but not limited to threats such as social media threats, assaults, fights, trespassing and illegal drug activity. Will make mandatory reporting and physical security recommendations.

High School Diploma or GED and two years of security or law enforcement experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Graduation from a formal police academy or other formal security related training preferred.
Valid AZ Drivers License; Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
26/27 School Year; 201 days: 40 hours per week;
