Job summary

The Los Angeles LGBT Center seeks a Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment across its facilities. You will report to the Security Supervisor and work a rotating Thursday–Monday 6am–2pm schedule, with weekend and after-hours premiums as applicable.

As a non-exempt, union position, you will perform patrols, enforce center policies, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed, ensuring all buildings are secured after hours and necessary reports are filed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of work experience as a security guard.
• Ability to handle unruly individuals firmly and non-antagonistically.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift including weekends.
• State of California Guard card is required.
• Sensitivity to LGBT community needs and homeless youth/adults.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and clients.
• Enforce center policies and procedures at all times.
• Complete patrols and report incidents to dispatch and supervision.
• Respond to alarms and disturbances, coordinating with law enforcement if needed.
• Escort disruptive individuals off premises and secure buildings after closing.
• Prepare daily activity and incident reports; participate in trainings.
