Talen Energy is seeking candidates for the Fall of 2025 for a Security Officer Level I position at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, Pennsylvania.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prevent penetration into Protected/Vital areas and prevent radiological sabotage by use of deadly/non-deadly force.
• Access and visitor control; verify and issue credentials and TLDs.
• Search of individuals and vehicles for prohibited items as outlined in NRC Reg. 10CFR73.55.
• Maintain surveillance over assigned areas, respond to alarms and emergencies, and report assessments to the Security Control Center.
• Escort non-licensee and emergency vehicles and occupants.
• Stop adversary threats against SSES.
• Inventory, inspect, and clear weapons; ensure safe handling during issuance and return.
• Provide emergency access for vehicles and personnel, including LLEA first responders and fire personnel.
• Respond to first aid and fire emergencies.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in approximately 80 task certifications.
• Complete CPR, first aid, Radiation Worker, and Plant Access training annually.
• Meet all training and certification requirements per CFR, including medical, psychological, and first aid certifications.
• Yearly weapons certifications, night qualifications, and physical requirements.
• Possess a Pennsylvania Conceal and Carry Permit within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement preferred.
