Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Security Officer for a 3rd shift, weekends included, onsite only. The role requires a current DoD Secret clearance at the time of application and a high school diploma with related experience.

Responsibilities include guarding the campus, patrolling for security, inspecting doors and gates, responding to alarms and emergencies, issuing badges, directing traffic, operating a company security vehicle, and performing escort duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Ability to climb a ladder.
• Valid government-issued driver’s license.
• Must be able to operate/drive a company security vehicle.

• Guard and conduct patrols on campus to protect property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other potential hazards.
• Periodically patrol premises and examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
• Observe departing personnel to guard against thefts of company and personal property on campus.
• Inspect company equipment to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
• Report security irregularities.
• Respond to active alarms and medical emergencies.
• Permit authorized personnel to enter company property.
• Examine credentials of persons desiring access to restricted areas.
• Issue temporary employee and visitor badges as required.
• Direct traffic on company premises when needed.
• Operate a company vehicle.
• Perform various escort duties on campus.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA (100% onsite, cannot accommodate telecommute)

Shift: 3rd shift, weekends included; shifts subject to change due to business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval within a reasonable period of time.
• Ability to climb a ladder.
• Valid government‑issued driver’s license.
• Must be able to operate/drive a company security vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current California Guard Card.
• Active Top Secret and/or SCI clearance.
