SECURITY OFFICER II - VR & CB - FULL-TIME - DAY SHIFT

STARTING RATE : $17.50

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT : 21 years old

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION : State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Drivers License, D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old), CPR/AED Certification (provided by the Company)

JOB SUMMARY : The Security Senior Officer will perform all Job Summary tasks described in the “Security Officer” description in a professional and consistent manner. The Senior Officer will assist in the training of all Security Officers. Additionally, in the absence of the Security Lieutenant and Sergeant, he/she will supervise all Security Dept. members on staff. The Senior Officer will assist the Lieutenant and Sergeant in ensuring that all Gaming Regulations, Company and Security Dept. Policies are adhered to.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS : Previous experience with Mesquite Gaming Security required. Must have completed Mesquite Gaming Management Training. Must possess basic math, computer, and grammar skills with good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to make sound decisions under stressful situations often in short time frames. Must have a high school diploma equivalent. Must possess integrity and the basic desire to serve and protect. Must be able to work in a tobacco-smoke filled environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  1. Maintain an effective and efficient staff by conducting training for staff members; monitor and maintain training records.
  2. Ensure that all Department Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures are followed.
  3. Review reports and other written materials prepared by staff members for proper content, accuracy, and thoroughness, making corrections and improvements as needed.
  4. Conduct follow-up investigations to Security Incident Reports.
  5. Other job related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS :

  • Remember to always have a can-do attitude when dealing with customers and always get answers for the guests.
  • If in hostile situations with customers, seek ways to create win-win situations that will benefit both the customer and the Company.
  • Be cheerful, helpful, respectful and professional when interacting with customers and other staff members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking on uneven surfaces, lifting of moderately heavy objects. The work may require above average strength, agility or dexterity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions, i.e. extreme outdoor weather conditions, under threat of physical attack by another person, mob condition, or in similar situations in which conditions cannot be completely controlled. Casino environment is tobacco-smoke exposed.
