  • Protect UC Health associates, patients, visitors, buildings, grounds, and vehicles. Enforce rules and regulations related to all facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in criminal justice or security management preferred. Graduation from Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) or other state-certified academy as a security or police officer preferred.
  • License and Certification: Obtain IAHSS security officer certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in law enforcement, public safety, security, or military police. Willing to certify, license, or graduate within 12 months; IAHSS certification preferred.
  • Skills: Basic police training preferred; experience with Microsoft Office required.

Work Environment: Ability to consider the diverse attributes, needs, and behaviors of the populations served by UC Health. Ability to work under stress, in various weather conditions, and maintain high moral standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patrol property and facilities by foot, bike, or vehicle; respond to alarms and dispatched calls. Conduct investigations, document incidents, and cooperate professionally with others.
  • Inspect for security, health, and safety hazards; conduct initial investigations and submit work requests as needed.
  • Enforce UC Health policies and regulations; assist in enforcing laws; testify in court if required.
  • Perform safety checks, including monthly fire extinguisher and alarm system inspections.
  • Stay current with industry trends through literature, seminars, and conferences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, such as lock/unlock duties, handling lost property, motorist and medical assists, package delivery, and helicopter landing safety.
