Harris Health System is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to patrol, protect, and secure all Harris Health buildings and grounds. You will promote safety, deter incidents, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure patient and staff well-being across the network.

The role requires vigilant response to crisis activations, strict adherence to access control and patrol procedures, and reliable documentation through incident reports and communications equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training within six months.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• BLS from a hospital-based AHA program.
• Aggression Management certification within 30 days; recertify upon expiration if held.
• TPSB III registration within 90 days of employment.
• 1 year of experience in security/healthcare or related field; or a combination.

Job Summary

Responsible for patrolling, protecting, and securing all Harris Health System's buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. Promotes safety and security at all Harris Health locations. Responds to all crisis intervention team activations, prevents patient elopements, and assist medical staff with restraint of patients as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• School Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Licenses & Certifications

• IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program must be completed within six months of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Basic Life Support from a hospital based AHA program
• Aggression Management certification or equivalent certification required within 30days. If certification other than Aggression Management is held at the time of hire, must be recertified as Aggression Management upon expiration of held certification.
• TPSB III: Must be Registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau within 90 days of employment.
• Work Experience: One (1) year experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare, or related experience; or a combination of the above.
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Writing /Reports
• Proficiencies: MS Word, P.C., Typing 20 WPM
