Summary
- This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care.
- This position works under the supervision of the Director – Security, and the Security Managers and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
- Conducting patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and able to respond to an armed threat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation.
- Conducting inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten life safety.
- Able to operate in a stressful environment where person/persons have experienced life threatening injuries and death.
- Controlling persons experiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
- Participating in positive public relations activities by providing assistance with information, directions, and vehicles management.
- Documenting activities and reports on a daily basis, providing information to the leadership. Officers will maintain all equipment and vehicles in a constant state of readiness.
- Coordinating traffic and crowd control during emergency situations and provide direction as necessary or requested.
- Respond and investigate incidents in a timely manner and effectively document the facts of the case, take photos of the crime scene and secure any evidence.
- Direct and or assist Security Officer (I) in the performance of their duties during their shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. High School Diploma, GED or HiSET equivalent required. A minimum of two years college preferred preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy is preferred.
- Minimum class E chauffeurs license or ability to obtain valid chauffeur’s driver`s license within 90 days of start date. Must obtain Heart Saver certification within 90 days of employment. 2004 Federal law Enforcement Act H.R. 218 for Carrying Concealed Firearm, or a Valid CCW Certification. Must complete the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam within the first 120 days of employment.
- Two years in a position dealing with the public, preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security, Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) is required.
