Job summary

Lewis Energy Group is seeking a Security Officer II to maintain a safe, secure environment for customers and employees. You will patrol premises, monitor cameras, inspect access points, and respond to incidents to prevent losses and ensure compliance with policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Texas Level II license, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency in Word/Excel. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with a 14-hour shift schedule on a rolling pattern.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3+ years related experience or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must possess a valid Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Officer license and a valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Patrols property by foot or vehicle to secure premises and personnel.
• Monitors surveillance equipment and inspects access points and equipment.
• Directs entry, issues warnings, and calls for assistance as needed.
• Completes incident reports by documenting observations and interviewing witnesses.
• Maintains environment by managing building/equipment controls.
• Complies with laws and company policies to protect stability and reputation.
• Operates and maintains security alarms and camera systems.
• Handles emergency calls and coordinates responses with staff.
• Work schedule: 14-hour shifts; 6am–8pm; Thu-Sat off, Sun off, then Mon-Wed; schedule may vary.

The Security Officer II will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling, and monitoring premises, assets, and personnel.

Responsibilities

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property (by foot/vehicle); monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting/denying entry. Obtains help by sounding alarms.

Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.

Controls traffic by directing drivers.

Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.

Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.

Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Process and prioritizes incoming emergency calls and non-emergency calls for assistance and takes appropriate action.

Receives and disseminates security related information to concerned parties and staff members.

Informs staff of new and updated rules, regulations and processes pertaining to emergency situations.

Monitors security cameras and alarm systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must possess a current State of Texas level II Non-Commissioned Officer license.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to maintain control in emergency situations.

Ability to prioritize and rearrange tasks as needed.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Other Qualifications

Must have held the Security Officer I position or equivalent position for a minimum of 2 years and demonstrated a high degree of knowledge and proficiency.

Work schedule/Hours

• 14 hour shift, 6am - 8pm
• Thursday - Saturday, Sunday off, then Monday - Wednesday, 7 days off
• Hours and schedule may vary based on operational tempo

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
