Job summary

Hy-Vee Cherokee Security Officer I is responsible for protecting employees, guests, and assets within Hy-Vee’s supply chain facilities. The role requires vigilance, integrity, and adherence to company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful interactions.

Key duties include managing security posts at entrances, controlling access, monitoring alarms and CCTV, and leading responses to security incidents. A high school diploma and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Military, law enforcement, or security-related work experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check annually.
• Must be trained and certified in CPR and AED use; First Aid, O.C. Spray, Use of Force and De-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manages security operations posts at employee, executive, visitor, and receiving entrances.
• Maintain safe ingress/egress and verify authorized access to facilities.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to security incidents and alarms.
• Conduct inspections and report findings for safety and security equipment.
• Lead responses to security, medical, weather, and other critical incidents.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain shift logs.
