An AHS Security Officer 1 is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in AHS healthcare facilities and corporate locations. This role involves monitoring the premises, preventing unauthorized access, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the enforcement of hospital policies and procedures related to safety and security.
Duties and Responsibilities of an AHS Security Officer 1
- Security and Surveillance
- Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to deter and detect criminal activity, suspicious behavior, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent breaches or theft.
- Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Emergency Response to incidents at AHS Locations- Respond promptly to disturbances (AHS Code Whites) involving Team Members, Patients, and Visitors. Deescalate situations and ensure safety.
- Respond to acute medical events (AHS Code Purple) to assist clinical staff.
- Respond to fire alarms (AHS Code Red), participate in fire suppression, and assist as needed.
- Investigate all missing children (AHS Code Adam) and suspected infant abduction (AHS Code Pink).
- Provide leadership during Active Shooter situations (AHS Code Lockdown).
- Assist during Disasters or Emergency Situations (AHS Code Green).
Access Control- Verify visitor and vendor identities entering facilities.
- Enforce policies regarding access to sensitive areas.
- Manage all Team Member badges.
- Be familiar with EZ Lobby and Rep Trex Systems for badge access.
Customer Service- Provide directions and assistance to patients and visitors.
- Maintain professionalism when addressing concerns.
- Serve as a visible point of contact to reassure safety.
Reporting and Documentation- Prepare detailed incident reports using IMC Computer database.
- Maintain logs of daily activities, including patient scans, property reports, contraband reports, and others.
- Maintain effective communication with Team Members.
- Proficient in security technologies like AHECN, IMC, Mutualink, Victor Video, and ONYX Panel.
Training and Collaboration- Work with hospital staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services.
- Participate in RCT training twice a month and maintain certification.
- Complete FEMA ICS 100, 200, and IS 700 courses.
- Participate in Decontamination Training.
- Stay updated on all AHS policies and Procedures.
