The Department of Human Services, Norristown State Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to become an integral part of our security team. In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, students, and visitors across the hospital’s facilities and grounds. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the hospital. Your duties will include patrolling all buildings to identify and address fire hazards, trespassing, vandalism, theft, security issues, and unauthorized individuals. You will also play a key role in managing fire alarms and supporting emergency response teams as they arrive on campus. Additionally, you will oversee traffic and parking control according to established guidelines. Your responsibilities will involve both desk and patrol duties, including vehicle and foot patrols of the hospital grounds, conducting access control, and performing regular interior and exterior inspections. You will also manage security and safety investigations and ensure all necessary documentation is accurately maintained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Hours may change based on operational needs.
• This position works every other weekend and holidays.
• Overtime as needed
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

• You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
