Atlantic Health System is seeking a Security Officer for the Security Department at Overlook Medical Center – Night Shift - Days may vary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The selected candidate must be able to work first, second, and third shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
2. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for at least 4 hours at a time.
3. The candidate must attend mandatory training sessions.
4. Proficiency with computers is required.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with the department's computer system are essential.
6. The selected candidate must be able to engage effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
7. This position includes safety tours of the facility and grounds, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, gathering information, completing electronic reports, and de-escalating violent or threatening individuals.
8. The candidate will be exposed to bio-hazards such as blood, vomit, saliva, and urine.
9. The candidate will be required to pass an N95 Fit Test and be able to wear an N95 or surgical mask for short and extended periods.
10. Candidates will be oriented on one or more shifts during initial training.
11. Candidates will be required to pass an AHS-approved physical control tactics course.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Prior law enforcement, fire service, EMS, or behavioral health experience is highly preferred.
• Former military, reserve military, and law enforcement candidates are preferred.
• Thorough background checks will be conducted.
• Ability to write detailed reports and strong verbal communication skills are essential.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record is required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• High school diploma plus military, law enforcement, fire service, EMS, or security experience will be considered in lieu of an associate degree.
