Job summary

Tower Health in Reading, PA is seeking a Security Officer 1 for a full-time day shift (6:00 am–2:30 pm) to help maintain safety and security across the facility. You will screen people and items, monitor surveillance and weapons screening systems, and provide wayfinding support while addressing security concerns.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and teamwork, plus BLS and CHSO certifications within 6 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; relevant experience may be considered in lieu.
• Complete and maintain required competencies and trainings for the role.
• BLS Certification and IAHSS CHSO within 6 months of hire; valid driver's license.
• Minimum relevant security experience and ability to operate screening systems.

Responsibilities

• Screen individuals and inspect personal items and vehicles to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Monitor surveillance and weapons screening systems; respond to emergencies promptly.
• Provide wayfinding support and assist with security-related inquiries.

Job Summary

Work Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift, hours are 6:00am-2:30pm with every other weekend and every other holiday required.

Part of the Entrance Screening Division, the Security Officer 1 plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the premises by screening individuals entering the facility. This involves conducting thorough inspections of people, personal items, and vehicles to prevent unauthorized access, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and addressing security concerns promptly and effectively. The officer also monitors surveillance and weapons screening systems, provides wayfinding support and responds to emergencies or suspicious activities.
