ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Follow ethical business practices and comply with corporate guidelines.
- Know the layout of the hospital and new areas.
- Answer calls, keep logs, and dispatch security officers as needed.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and record suspicious activity.
- Guard hospital property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
- Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking lots.
- Check doors, windows, and gates for security.
- Participate in maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Report hazards or irregularities.
- Observe and report on personnel and visitors to prevent theft or damage.
- Warn violators and apprehend or expel suspicious persons.
- Understand alarm systems and how to sound alarms.
- Contact police for law violations and use two-way radios.
- Permit authorized access to the property.
- Record inspection times at watch stations.
- Respond to service calls and write reports on incidents.
- Post and lower flags and unlock doors as needed.
- Use basic computer skills for report entry.
- Manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
- Educate staff and visitors on safety and loss prevention.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Security experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Complete security officer training and obtain license as per Texas law.
- Complete 40-hour basic security training and certification within 12 months, including CPR, First Aid, CPI, and additional required training.
