Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Hospital Response Patrol in Baltimore, MD. This part‑time role offers stable anchor shifts at a hospital site with the option to pick up additional shifts for higher earnings.

Pay rate is $18.50 per hour. The schedule includes daytime night shifts, with a six‑month anchor shift commitment and opportunities to grow into full‑time roles through ongoing paid training and scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Subject to background investigation as required by law
• Background histories considered with applicable laws
• Subject to drug screening as permitted by law
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security procedures and emergency response actions in a healthcare setting
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations calmly and professionally
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management and site procedures while maintaining a professional presence
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.


• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations as required.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.


• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directions, and adherence to site access procedures while maintaining a professional presence.


• Prepare accurate reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership, healthcare personnel, and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.


• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.


• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.


• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.


• Must be 21 years of age or older


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
