• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Background check as a condition of employment; drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Post-offer training and certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high-profile healthcare customer. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Compensation and Schedule

$20 per hour. Part Time On Call

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• De-escalate individuals verbally and physically, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May include patient escort, patient watch, safety escorts, and assisting or transporting deceased to the morgue

Minimum Requirements

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Background check as a condition of employment in accordance with applicable laws; Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories consistent with laws
• Drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only
• Post-offer, must complete training and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
