SUMMARY

The Security Officer is responsible for executing Security duties on their assigned shift to ensure a safe and friendly environment for the guests.

This position requires operating a company or personal vehicle as part of the job. Candidates must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a clean driving record.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all company policy and procedures which maintain the security of the Team Members, Guest, Vendors, company funds and physical property.
  • Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving customers, employees, and/or the facility. Responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of records and reports.
  • Escorts and observes customers and employees, to ensure their safety and protection; identifies potential safety hazards and reports to the appropriate individual for proper resolution.
  • May be required to act as a Dispatcher which includes informing outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the company’s facilities, as well as special events on property.
  • Interacts with customers and employees in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.
  • Accepts identification as necessary to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Responds to common inquiries or concerns from guests and ensures the appropriate leadership team member or resource is utilized to help with timely and positive resolution.
  • Must be able to work the required work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to manage business and interact personally with Team Members, vendors and guests.
  • Ensures all safety standards are met and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • 1 year of casino industry experience preferred. Excellent Guest Service and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and act upon documents and reports necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to effectively use a computer as well as various software including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk for up to an entire shift. Will regulary sit at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. May need to push up to 200 pounds infrequently.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
  • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
