Qualifications

As a Security Officer City Service Building Control Accessin New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government administration location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate professionally with employees and visitors. This role calls for teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach while responding to security-related concerns and providing exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government human services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, entrances, exterior spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and assist with visitor management and directions.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
