Job summary

Per Mar Security Services in Minnesota is hiring entry level and experienced security officers to join our expanding team. This full-time position offers weekend and evening shifts with $19 per hour and opportunities for growth.

You will perform loss prevention tasks, operate hand-held computers, and interact with the public to keep sites safe. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must be at least 18 years old with a clean background.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass pre-employment screening.
• Familiarity with security equipment is preferred.
• Able to handle physical workload and walk on various surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Loss Prevention: Checking orders and counting purchased product.
• Hand-held computers: good understanding of computers.
• Product Knowledge: knowledge of building industry and construction products.
• Walking: lots of walking on concrete in busy summer months.
• Communication: interacts with the public; must communicate well.

Responsibilities

More of a loss prevention job than a security job. We check vehicles in and give directions as to where their product is in the lumber yard. When they come to exit, we check to make sure that the product that they purchased is in fact the product that they have in their vehicle or trailer.

• Loss Prevention | Checking orders and counting purchased product
• Computers | Hand held computers used, must have good understanding of computers
• Product Knowledge | Generally, good knowledge of the building industry and construction is required.
• Walking | Can be very busy in the summer months, a lot of walking required on Concrete is required.
• Communication | A lot of interaction with the public, must be able to communicate well

• - Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• - Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• - Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• - Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• - Report any facility issues
• - Request emergency personnel for high risk situations
