Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor and control entry/exit points, verify credentials, and maintain visitor records.
• Respond to access-related incidents and alarms in a calm, problem-solving manner.

As a Security Officer Full Time Visitor Screening in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and report security-related concerns. Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and direct authorized personnel, contractors, and visitors in accordance with established access requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs for access activity, incidents, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
