Job summary

Allied Universal in Bessemer, AL is seeking a Security Officer (Unarmed) to join our logistics and distribution location. You will provide customer service, perform routine patrols, monitor access, and report security concerns while upholding site policies.

As a full-time role, you will work 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday, with a starting pay of $16.50 per hour. We offer growth opportunities, smart tools to claim shifts, and health and retirement benefits.

Job Schedule:

• Mon 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Tue 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Wed 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Thur 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Fri 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, delivery-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by observing visitors, vendors, drivers, and employees, and report irregularities or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site‑specific reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
