Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to protect client sites in Columbus, OH, performing unarmed patrols, assisting visitors and staff, and enforcing site policies with a strong customer service orientation.

Role includes using computer or tablet tools, maintaining a visible presence, and documenting incidents and deliveries. Full-time hours are 1:30 PM–10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with competitive pay and growth opportunities offered by Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document entries, exits, and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports of patrol findings, incidents, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
