Job summary

Allied Universal in Kihei, HI is seeking a full-time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol and protect retail environments. You'll monitor assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide friendly customer service to shoppers and staff.

The role requires being at least 18, HS diploma, ability to pass background check and drug screen, and a valid driver's license where applicable; you will work a day/evening schedule across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document and communicate observations according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe conditions that may require attention, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly retail environment by providing directions, supporting store operations, and interacting professionally with the public.
