Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an unarmed Security Officer for our Canton, MI location. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible security presence, assist customers and team members, and report concerns to leadership.

This full-time role requires 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and compliance with background checks and drug screening where permitted. Shift schedule includes daytime and late shifts in a dynamic retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, potential hazards, policy violations, and other security concerns to site personnel or leadership.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site procedures, documenting activities.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and monitoring designated areas to deter theft and unauthorized access.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Incident Prevention Patrol in Canton, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Security Officer supporting a busy retail location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist customers and team members, and communicate clearly when reporting concerns. Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter locations, as assigned.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, potential hazards, policy violations, and other security-related concerns to appropriate site personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and documenting activities as required.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and the monitoring of designated areas to help deter theft, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
