Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Driver in Tacoma, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, and support a secure environment for visitors and staff. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. Deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document security-related activities while demonstrating Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, parking areas, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, reporting unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation while maintaining professional communication with site representatives and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
