Allied Universal in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Security Officer for full-time screening verification to protect clients across logistics and distribution sites. You will screen people, packages, and/or materials, maintain a visible presence, and deter incidents while delivering professional customer service and clear communication.

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, packages, and/or vehicles entering or departing the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor access points, shipping and receiving areas, and designated restricted areas; verify credentials and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, loading areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
