Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for Full Time Screening Operations in Wailuku, HI. You will screen visitors and belongings at a government court location, operate screening equipment, and maintain a professional environment to deter incidents while supporting daily operations.

Qualifications

• Possession of a guard card/license is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Screen individuals, personal property, and permitted items entering court facilities in accordance with procedures.
• Operate screening equipment (walk-through detectors and X-ray systems) and flag prohibited items.
• Provide customer service by directing visitors and conveying entry requirements professionally.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; notify court personnel or responders.
• Maintain awareness of activity at screening locations and complete incident reports and access records.

Pre-Employment Requirement: 21+ Years of Age (C101)

What You'll Do:

• Screen individuals, personal property, and permitted items entering court facilities in accordance with established procedures and site-specific policies.
• Operate screening equipment, including walk-through metal detectors and X-ray systems, and identify prohibited or suspicious items for appropriate follow-up.
• Provide customer service by directing visitors, answering general questions, and communicating entry requirements in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, promptly notifying appropriate court personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain awareness of activity at assigned screening locations and complete required documentation, incident reports, and access-related records.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card/license is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
