Job Details

Provides maximum protection for the safety and security of university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors, and Jefferson assets. Performs security duties at fixed posts, on patrol, or during building and grounds rounds. Responds to calls for service, checks for unauthorized persons, security violations, and fire or safety hazards. Capable of being assigned to any fixed post or patrol duties in any environment and shift. Assists patients, visitors, and students by providing directions or information upon request.

Interactions with co-workers, visitors, and staff should align with Jefferson's values.

Responsibilities include security patrols, verifying identities, escorting unauthorized persons, responding promptly to emergencies, investigating incidents, maintaining logs, and providing assistance during security incidents. Also includes parking patrols, supporting safety teams, enforcing no-smoking policies, and other security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security, police, or military experience preferred. Experience in campus/hospital security or law enforcement strongly preferred.
• PA: Valid ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license required at certain locations.
• Ability to understand responsibilities and technology of the 24-hour Security Response Center (SRC).
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Email).
• Ability to work all shifts and rotate as needed.
• Must present a professional appearance and carry required security instruments at all times.
