Job Summary

Reports directly to the Security Supervisor. Patrols and responds to calls throughout all areas of the hospital. Maintains a safe/secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors by upholding applicable Federal/State laws and Emanate Health policies in an effective and tactful manner. Tasks are performed within established departmental operating procedures, with decision-making often routine but sometimes under moderate to extreme stress.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma, equivalent, or one year of security experience.
2. Minimum Experience Requirement: One year experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred. Familiarity with hospital environment, electronics, access control systems, CCTV, and electronic locking hardware required. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
3. Minimum License Requirement: Valid California Guard Card and California Driver’s License. BLS certification and Baton and Pepper Spray training must be completed within 90 days of hire. Must be 21 or older with at least two years of continuous driving experience in California. No major convictions (e.g., DUI/DWI, hit and run, reckless driving) and limited moving citations and at-fault accidents in the past three years. Assaultive Behavior Training Certification meeting AB508 and SB1299 required within 90 days of hire. New hires with external Assaultive Behavior training must complete Emanate Health Workplace Violence online module within 30 days.
