Allied Universal in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Security Officer for full-time, unarmed patrol duties at a government facility. Qualified candidates will hold a Certified Protection Officer certificate, be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at government facilities by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly; notify appropriate personnel or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of restricted or sensitive areas in accordance with site policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

What You'll Do:

• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of restricted or sensitive areas in accordance with site policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Certified Protection Officer certification.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
