Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Full Time in Minneapolis, MN. You will protect clients across industries while delivering strong customer service to students, staff and visitors.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents. CPR/First Aid is preferred; a high school diploma is required; a background check and drug screen apply.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds; access control/badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and notify campus contacts or responders as directed.
• Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Prepare clear incident reports and communicate professionally with the team and site reps.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Tue 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Wed 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Thur 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Fri 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with the Allied Universal team and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
