Allied Universal in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons to protect client sites across manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will manage access, verify credentials, monitor activity, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.

The role requires 18+ (21+ for armed), a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Full-time schedule with afternoon shifts.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the manufacturing and industrial location by verifying credentials, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining access records, and following established entry and exit procedures.
• Respond to access-control concerns, alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, visitor logs, incident documentation, and other required records in accordance with site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
