Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer for Full Time Access Screening in York, PA. You will serve clients, manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and provide outstanding customer service at a fast-paced distribution location.

The role uses computer or tablet systems to support visitor and employee access while maintaining communication and a visible presence that deters incidents.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, manage visitor and contractor sign-in processes, and maintain records.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the facility, including trucks, trailers, drivers, and vendors, following site procedures.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, dock areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.61 / Hour

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):

  • All candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets for communication and task management.
  • Emails should be composed using standard email clients and should adhere to the formatting and etiquette guidelines outlined in this policy.
  • Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with basic computer functions, including but not limited to, email composition, attachment handling, and calendar management.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):

  • Candidates should highlight any relevant customer service experience in their email communications.
  • Emails should reflect a customer-centric approach, showcasing professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Responses to inquiries should be timely and informative, demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service.

What You'll Do

• Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, manage visitor and contractor sign-in processes, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the facility, including trucks, trailers, drivers, and vendors, following established site procedures.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, dock areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
