Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Full Time Security Officer – Access Patrol in Chicago, IL. You will monitor and protect client properties, assist tenants and visitors, and uphold site policies while maintaining a visible security presence.

Position type is Full Time with shift work. Pay is $21.00 per hour, with a schedule including nights and weekends. Join a team that prioritizes safety, customer service, and community impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
• Age: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while performing security procedures and emergency response at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and notify site contacts or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interiors, exteriors, parking areas, common areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity in accordance with site procedures; report maintenance concerns and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, tenant, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures; report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
