Description:

• The Security & Safety Officer will provide unarmed, uniformed security, safety, and customer services to all staff, students, patients, and visitors of the Medical Center.

Position Responsibilities:

• Patrol the Medical Center Campus and its buildings to deter crime, prevent loss, and promote a safe environment.
• Maintain a security presence at the main entrances of various buildings on campus to control access, provide directions and assistance, and prevent loss.
• Gather information and complete reports to document incidents and events on the Medical Center Campus.
• Perform traffic and crowd control on the campus to manage pedestrian and vehicle flow.
• Assist the Parking Department with motorist assistance and parking control, and support the Safety Department with fire and chemical safety services.
• Perform security and service-related duties as assigned to promote loss prevention, crime deterrence, and service excellence.
• Enforce the rules and regulations of Loyola University Health System and Medical Center.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma plus relevant training or work experience.
• Degree(s): Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security Administration, Fire Services, or related field preferred.
• May be required to be on-call for emergencies and work occasional evenings/weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent training via work experience or education.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Valid Illinois driver's license required.

Pay Range:

$15.96 - $22.98 per hour. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and peer comparisons.
