Security Officer: Full Time Day shift (8am - 4pm) + every other weekend and holiday
Summary:
- Enforces Chester County Hospital regulations, provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees by enforcing hospital regulations and by continuously watching for and timely reporting of potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences through patrol of assigned areas. Investigates complaints or potential criminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services. Possesses and exhibits extraordinarily strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Protect the establishment, its patients, visitors, staff, employees, and invitees against hazards such as trespass, crime, fire, and other emergencies. Aid the acutely ill and render assistance to those in need.
- Patrol fixed posts and/or hospital premises. Be alert for fire, theft, accident prevention, leaks, property damage, housekeeping issues, work rule violations, and traffic control. Keep supervisor informed at all times.
- Ascertain the identity of all persons during designated hours. Examine property and parcels being taken from the premises to prevent theft.
- Prepare and submit complete and accurate written reports. Make incident notations in logs. Maintain confidentiality. May be required to testify in court regarding hospital and security matters.
- Cross-train in other locations beyond the usual workplace. Ensure all training is current. May work different shifts and locations as needed.
- Maintain all issued keys, equipment, and uniforms. May supervise others temporarily as assigned as a Lead Officer or in charge.
- Work weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
- Maintain good character, neat appearance, and comply with dress code and standards.
- Interact with persons entering and leaving the hospital in various settings, including waiting rooms, treatment areas, and inpatient rooms.
- Perform outdoor duties in extreme weather conditions and in high heat, damp, or dusty environments. Be prepared for physical encounters when confronting or restraining individuals.
Credentials:
- Driver's License (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Associate of Arts or Science in Criminal Justice or related field, or equivalent experience: 2+ years in security, military, or law enforcement.
