Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is seeking a customer service oriented Security Officer for a full-time role in Dekalb, IL. You will perform access control, patrols, and report safety issues while delivering professional service to clients and guests.

The role emphasizes teamwork, de-escalation, and rapid response to incidents. Training and growth opportunities are provided. Ideal candidates protect assets and people in varying weather and terrains, with strong attention to detail and calm

Qualifications

• Must have customer service background preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required or ability to obtain GED within 6 months.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment screening including drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform access control at security entrances/exits.
• Conduct patrols inside and outside the client’s premises.
• Identify and report safety issues or suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Interact with client employees and guests to ensure security and service.
• Assist in de-escalation and conflict resolution.
• Support site and organizational goals as part of a team.

What You Can Expect

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct patrols inside / outside the client’s premises, potentially in various weather conditions and in different types of terrain.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
• Standard computer / technology skills needed.
• Customer service background preferred.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
• Must have great attention to detail and the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
