Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a full-time Security Officer to safeguard the campus, respond to emergencies, and provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The role includes patrols, access control, and safety reporting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3 years security experience, first aid/defense certifications, a valid driver's license, and a clean background. CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, lots, and grounds.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, including medical incidents.
• Monitor surveillance and access control systems.
• Ensure only authorized individuals access buildings.
• Enforce campus rules and safety procedures.
• Prepare incident and daily activity reports.
• Provide safe escorts for students and staff.
• Assist law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed.

Job description

Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking to hire a full-time Security Officer. The incumbent in this position will provide a safe and secure environment for this multi-building campus and serve as a first responder to emergencies (i.e., CPR) and incidents. Additionally, this position provides customer service to students, visitors, staff, and faculty. The Security Officer provides routine security work for MHSL property and maintains the security of MHSL buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Make regular inspection tours of campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security incidents.
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance, alarms, and emergency situations (medical, fire, safety, etc.).
• Monitor surveillance systems and access control systems.
• Ensure that only authorized persons are admitted to assigned areas of building
• Enforce campus rules, parking regulations, and safety procedures.
• Conduct safety checks of doors, windows, and equipment.
• Prepare accurate incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
• Provide safety escorts for students, staff, and visitors as needed.
• Assist law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.
• Work and communicate with internal and external customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma with some specialized training of less than 2 years (technical or business school)
• 3 years security experience
• Certification in first aid, self-defense, ASP training (or are willing to become certified or recertified)
• Valid Driver's license
• Acceptable FBI/BCA background check and Motor vehicle check

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification (or are willing to become certified or recertified)

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
