Rio Las Vegas is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property. You will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections, and document incidents in accordance with policy.

This role requires strong observation skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and the capacity to work flexible shifts across all areas of the property.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent is required
• Two years' experience in a position with direct guest contact required
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programs
• Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must be able to prepare effective written reports
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
• Must be able to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.
• Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
• Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
• The Security Officer must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, guests, and property within a designated area. They play a crucial role in preventing and responding to security threats, emergencies, and incidents. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow Team Members.
• Gives directions and provides escort to customers in need.
• Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.
• Makes chip fills, jackpot verifications.
• Regularly provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.
• Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
• Patrols all sections of property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security.
• Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
• Makes lost and found detailed descriptions of people and incidents.
• Enforces all company policies and procedures.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.

• Must regularly lift and/move up to 150 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.

Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.
