Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Safety & Security, the Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of staff, patients, visitors, management, facilities, and grounds. This includes patrolling the building and grounds, operating security vehicles and other transportation modes, and responding promptly to security needs across the Texoma Medical Center Market.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency; college-level courses in a security-focused academic program are preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a security-related field, preferably in healthcare.
• Valid driver’s license for TX or OK with no more than two (2) moving violations in the past year.
• Ability to obtain a security license through the Texas Department of Public Safety or Private Security Bureau within six (6) months of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years old for insurability.
• Ability to obtain certification in non-aggressor intervention (e.g., Handle w/Care Maps) within six (6) months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reading comprehension, report writing, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Independent thinking and strong decision-making skills.
• Basic computer skills, including use of security cameras and prox badge systems.
• Ability to perform security services safely, including de-escalating situations and resolving issues to maintain safety.
• Sound judgment, maturity, confidentiality, and calmness are essential.
