An established industry player is seeking a Security Officer to ensure a safe environment for employees and visitors. POSITION SUMMARY (General statement reflecting the overall purpose of the Security Officer 1 (Unarmed Security)):
These officers are instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors, and visitors by monitoring and patrolling our facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while providing assistance with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection, and traffic/parking control. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two to three years in a security role, law enforcement, or military background, or a minimum of three years of strong customer service roles with the ability and willingness to learn security practices.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE: Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate state licenses/certifications for this position. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within 60 days of employment or transfer; must maintain a valid state driver’s license. Level II Noncommissioned Security Officer within 60 days of hire.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE: Texas Security Officer Commission Level III.
Ability to perform continuous physical exertion activities (e.g., going up and down multiple flights of stairs, standing and walking for extended periods, carrying people in emergencies). Must meet all physical requirements of the job, which may include an annual physical. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (masks, gowns, security-related equipment). Must pass pre-employment and annual background checks. Effective written and oral communication skills are essential, including report writing. Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with all levels of personnel and the public professionally. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment. Capable of preparing written reports and providing excellent customer service. Ability to handle both routine and crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
Responsibilities include protecting life, property, information, and reputation by employing situational awareness; monitoring and securing entrances/exits; observing the flow of personnel and visitors; verifying credentials; providing directions; evaluating and responding to incidents per system policies; and responding to emergencies including disturbances, fires, and medical situations. Prepares incident reports as required and maintains knowledge of all security orders and regulatory requirements.

Required: 2 years in security, law enforcement, or military; or at least 3 years in customer service with willingness to learn security practices.
Required: State law-required licensure/certification; valid state driver’s license.
