Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at our Herndon, VA location to welcome visitors, control access, monitor entry points, and ensure a safe, professional environment for tenants and guests. Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/locality.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and staff while following site‑specific security procedures.
• Staff the front desk, greet and screen visitors, verify access, issue credentials, maintain logs.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security systems; report incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and according to procedures.
• Provide directions and building information, support access control processes, and maintain a welcoming lobby presence.

What You'll Do

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and staff while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies at a commercial real estate location.
• Staff the front desk, greet and screen visitors, verify access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and package logs.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security‑related systems; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established response procedures.
• Provide directions and general building information, support access control processes, and maintain a professional, welcoming presence in the lobby.
  

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
