Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Branch Flex in Fort Lauderdale, FL to support multiple client sites. You will perform patrols, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents using our shift-pickup platform to build a schedule that fits your availability.

Requirements include a high school diploma or 5 years of verifiable experience, a guard card, reliable communication, and the ability to work irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of security related experience.
• Guard card is required.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background investigation required; may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively and clearly.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Assess and evaluate situations quickly and accurately.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department as needed.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously.
• Make emergency notifications per site Post Orders.
